DUKW

With the release of the DUKW, Brickmania’s line of WW2 amphibious vehicles will be one step closer to completion. The first batch of DUKWs is expect to be available next week at Brickfair Virginia. This monstrous vehicle is over 33 studs long and 9 studs wide, and weighs over 3/4 of a pound! It can handily hold a Brickmania Durabuilder Jeep in the cargo bay and has room for two minifigures in the cabin. Just like the real thing, Brickmania’s 1/35 scale DUKW was a durable vehicle, capable of moving large amounts of cargo on land and at seas (well, ours may not swim as well as the real thing). Here are some additional views of the DUKW…

This kit has great customization potential, with possible attachment of an A-frame hoist, cargo bay cover and/or machine gun mount. Watch this blog for photos of DUKW in action on our display at Brickfair Virigina next week. If you can’t be there to buy one in person, DUKWs should be available to the rest of the world shortly thereafter.  The DUKW as shown at top (no minifigs) has an MSRP of $165.

RESTOCK: Brickmania’s Panzer II is Full of Details

$

Panzer II
The Panzer II was the first true gun tank fielded by the Germany in World War II. Developed in secret between the wars, the Panzer II’s turret was armed with both a machine gun for anti-personnel fire, plus a 37mm cannon for use against other armored vehicles. Although the Panzer II was soon found woefully inadequate against next generation Allied tank designs, the Panzer II played a key role in the campaigns in Poland, France, North Africa and the Barbarossa campaign in Russia. Even though it was largely withdrawn from front line duty by 1942, the Panzer II continued to soldier on in reconnaissance and convoy escort duty throughout the war. The hull of the Panzer II was also the basis of the highly successful Wespe self-propelled 10.5cm gun. While this is a relatively small model, the high level of detail and SNOT (Studs Not On Top) building techniques earn this kit an Intermediate skill level rating. To celebrate the release of our latest batch of Panzer II kits, we are taking $10 of the price for a limited time. Order yours HERE.

Wespe Box Cover

In response to your requests, we’ve brought one of Brickmania’s most popular kits of all time back into production.

The SdKfz 124 Leichte Feldhaubitz 18/2 auf Fahrgesetll PzKpfw II, or simply “Wespe” (Wasp), was a mobile armored 10.5 cm howitzer produced by Germany during 1943 and 1944 and saw action in the famous tank battle of Kursk and remained operational throughout the end of the war. See Achtung! Panzer for more info and pictures of the Wespe in action.

This model is a remake of the original Brickmania Wespe kit from 2002, but in the new light gray color and a few minor parts updates. This is one of the handful of Brickmania kits that have sold over 500 units, making it one of the most popular Brickmania models of all time!

Additional information about this Brickmania custom Lego® kit:

This model is built using genuine new-condition Lego and BrickArms MG 42 machine gun. Highlights of this kit include:

  • Realistic elevation and traverse of the gun
  • An internal driver’s compartment big enough to house a driver minifig (but you’ll have rip off the roof to get him inside)
  • Open fighting compartment can hold 2-3 figures
  • Includes a BrickArms MG42 machine gun for close-in defense
  • Realistic minifig scaling (approximately 1:35) to match other Brickmania kits
  • Over-all color is light gray.

We have scraped together another pieces to assemble 20 more Tiger I premium building kits. This kit contains nearly 1000 pieces and builds a 1/35 scale Tiger I that includes realistic details inside and outside the hull. This kit is difficult for us to assemble and batches inevitably sell out faster than we can keep up with demand.  Get one now or possible wait until “Who knows when?” for the next batch!  Our production team production has reminded us that these kits take longer to assemble and they may not be ready to ship out until Thursday or Friday (November 10th or 11th).

FreeLE-IG560

The  7.5 cm leichtes Infanteriegeschütz 18  - 7.5 cm le.IG 18 – or 7.5cm Light Infantry Gun was an small infantry support howitzer used extensively by the Wehrmacht infantry throughout World War II. Originally produced in 1927, early designs had wooden wheels and was towed by horses. Later versions received pneumatic tires and were towed by small artillery tractors or wheeled vehicles. The le.IG 18 was small enough that it could be readily manhandled into firing position by its crews and it’s unique shotgun-style breech made loading simple and fast. Over 12,000 le.IG 18s were produced through World War II where it served as a light support gun for the hard-pressed German infantry on all fronts. There were also “Pack” versions of the le.IG 18, which could be broken down into smaller loads, and used by mountain or airborne troops.

The le.IG 18 is currently being offered free kit with any purchase of $100 through October 16th, from Brickmania.com or the Brickmania Toyworks Open House on Saturday, October 12th. There’s no need to put this in the shopping cart or use any special coupon – we’ll automatically add it to your order.

Here are some more images of the le.IG 18. Keep in mind the kit does not include figures…

We have another production run of M2A4 Light Tank kits hot of the assembly line. The M2A4 was the precursor to what was later standardized as the M3 Stuart light tank. M8 Greyhound Light Armored Scout Car – A Super Premium Re-issue

$

M8 Scout Car

Each year we re-release very limited batch of one or two “classic” Brickmania kits. We recently stumbled across as cache of the figures used in the original kit, which developed into the idea of a limited re-release. The over-all color scheme of this vehicle is the old dark gray color that LEGO discontinued in 2004. The bricks that make up these kits are in as close to new condition as we could obtain—most pulled from our own stash of never-been-used bricks. The packaging and instructions are identical to the original version released in July 2010. Only 120 of the original “old” dark gray kits were released before production changed over to the “new” dark gray bricks just a few months later.

M8 Greyhound

The M8 Light Armored Car was an American made reconnaissance vehicle and tank destroyer made by the Ford Motor Company during World War II. It is a 6×6 wheeled vehicle, with a crew of four and armed with a 37mm anti-tank gun mounted on a central turret. While they were generally considered under-armed against German tanks, and were reported to have poor off-road handling, they were superbly suited as fast reconnaissance vehicles on the roads of Western Europe. The M8 also saw duty in the Pacific theater, where their 37mm guns could easily knock out more lightly armored Japanese tanks. M8′s in British service were referred to as the Greyhound, which has become universally synonymous with the M8 in modern times. Only 20 kits were made in this batch, which is likely to be the last one ever!

Additional information about this Brickmania custom Lego® kit:

The M8 “Greyhound” 6×6 Light Armored Scout Car has the following features:

  • Fully rotating turret with elevating main gun assembly
  • Opening hatches for the drivers’ and engine compartments
  • 4x LEGO minifugres with BrickArms M1 Steel Pot Helmets
  • 1/35 scale to match other Brickmania models
  • Includes 351 genuine new-condition LEGO bricks and BrickArms elements
  • Over-all color scheme is the same old dark gray color of the original Brickmania kits
  • Comes with a signed and numbered certificate of authenticity
  • Intermediate Skill Level (4-6 years experience with LEGO is recommended)

All Brickmania model kits are made of new-condition LEGO bricks and this one includes compatible accessories by BrickArms. This model comes disassembled and includes complete full color printed building instructions, signed certificate of authenticity, and comes packaged in a sealed box. This is a limited edition kit and no further production is planned.
